Description

For nearly 45 years, since the first aftermarket scan tool was offered, the constant questions asked by collision and mechanical technicians alike is 'which scan tool should I use?'. This course builds on the conversation presented during the 2022 OEM Collision Repair Technology Summit session: Managing Scan Tool Choices While Ensuring Safe and Proper Repairs. During that session we exposed research conducted by the Repairify R&D team which illustrates which tools can be effective in returning the exact same results as a factory tool – or if that is possible. During this session we'll discuss the methodology used in the decision-making process. We'll also provide important insights that we have captured over the last year from the field; and how the data impacts the choices made by real repair facilities. Finally, we'll discuss our latest research project which is focused on the accuracy of aftermarket ADAS calibration targets with a particular focus on the differences in accuracy when calibrating a radar sensor with a 'one-size-fits-all' target.

The outcome of this class is to provide you with the science and understanding of the technology so you can make the right decision that ensures a safe and proper repair for your customer.
