Director, Innovations & Customer Solutions at Monument Renewables & Fuels

Dr. Mathur has been a passionate researcher in the specialty chemicals and fuels space for over 48 years. He started his career with Dow Chemical in Canada and held a number of Senior Scientist positions. In 2008, he joined Monument Chemical’s Specialty Fuels business as R&D Director – and was recently appointed Director, Innovations to serve the newly formed Monument Renewables and Fuels business. Dr. Mathur has supported Monument Chemical’s growth into several innovative markets, including rocket propellants for the space industry and high energy density fuels for cruise missiles for the military – and he is leading the company’s effort for the development of renewable propellants. Over the course of his career, Dr. Mathur has been the inventor of over 25 patents. Currently, he is a member of the Joint Army Navy AirForce NASA (JANNAF) committee on Liquid Propulsion and is working closely with the Air Force lab for the development hypersonic fuels. He has been directly involved with combustion standards and pathways for Sustainable Aviation Fuels – and regularly lends his expertise to industry partners to promote innovation in this important space. He serves on the ASTM Committee D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants, as well as on the Coordinating Research Council Performance Committee for Automotive fuels, Aviation Committee and Sustainable Mobility. In addition, Dr. Mathur has been an active participant in the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative and Clean Fuels Alliance of America since their inception. He completed his bachelor’s degree in engineering at IIT(BHU), India and earned his masters and doctorate degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr. Mathur and his wife reside in the Houston area, where they are close to their two sons and four grandchildren.
