Chargo, Jim

Jim Chargo is currently the Color Solutions Lead for BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings - North America. His career in the automotive aftermarket began after he graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s in finance in 1993. In 2013, Jim began his career with BASF as an account representative. Soon after he transitioned into a Business Development Manager role consulting with collision shops in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. His primary consultative services included analytical and process improvements. In January 2021, he accepted the position of Color Solutions Lead as part of the Business Solutions Team within the marketing department. In this North American role, he is responsible for color tools, digital color retrieval and he is a key figure in the release of BASF’s new cloud platform “Refinity”. He is excited about introducing new solutions that will increase profitability to collision center customers.
